چکیده

This work describes a Simulink lab practice using Arduino as low cost hardware. A Shell must be developed in order to adapt Arduino signals to the real plant, consist of a DC motor. With Arduino architecture and with open hardware a cheap Data Acquisition card has been build. Several tests have been done to validate de full system and a frequency study has been completed in order to know the possibilities of the proposed architecture in the control of new other plants. Finally, a lab exercise using the Simulink and Arduino system is proposed to the student of engineering bachelors. The exercise consisting of apply the empirical method of Ziegler-Nichols for adjust a PID controller, testing this controller over the experimental plant.

Hardware-in-the-loop Simulation and Real-time Control

In the previous chapters, Simulink was used to model complicated systems. Single variable and multivariable systems, linear and nonlinear systems, continuous, discrete and hybrid systems, time invariant and time varying systems, engineering and non-engineering systems can all be simulated by Simulink. With the use of S-function and Stateflow techniques, complicated systems, as well as discrete ...

A Low-Cost Real-Time Mobile Robot Platform (ArEduBot) to support Project-Based Learning in Robotics & Mechatronics

We discuss aspects of development of a low-cost realtime mobile-robot platform – ArEduBot for educational experiments. Our framework leverages ease-ofprogramming in block-diagrammatic form within the MATLAB/Simulink environment, together with several special-blocks developed within our Arduino-Simulink Toolbox 1 . The executable, compiled using the Real-Time-Workshop toolchain, can be downloade...

Raspberry Pi and Arduino – a perfect couple for control education

Nowadays the control education usually heavily relies on the available simulation packages and virtual laboratories, both of which have their irreplaceable position in the educational process. But unfortunately the closed loop experiments are way too often limited to these virtual domains and the students lack the physical feedback about the impact of control algorithms and its parameters. The ...

Extension software for real-time control system design and implementation with MATLAB-SIMULINK

The paper deals with a unified environment for the design and implementation of control schemes. The widely used MATLAB-SIMULINK is used for control scheme description. The implementation hardware is from Mitsubishi PLC. The SIMULINK library was extended with target hardware blocks. After an off-line design procedure, which can be combined with hardware-in-the-loop experiments, the control sche...
